moment zero Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 27, 2026

moment zero creates location-based adventures and interactive experiences that may involve physical locations, QR codes, other physical or digital Markers, challenges, routes, invitations, referrals, leaderboards, reports, communications, and other forms of participation.

This Privacy Policy explains what information moment zero may collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use moment zero.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use moment zero.

Account Information

Some moment zero features allow or may require you to sign in with Google.

When you use Google Sign-In, moment zero may receive basic account information authorized by you, such as:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your Google account identifier; and
  • your profile image, if provided by Google.

moment zero uses this information to authenticate you, identify your account, manage authorized access, and associate your participation with your account where account-based participation features are available.

Account-based participation may allow Adventure progress and other participation information to remain associated with you across supported browsers or devices.

moment zero does not receive or store your Google password.

Some Adventures may allow participation without signing in to a Google account.

Adventure and Participation Information

When you participate in a moment zero Adventure, we may collect information associated with your participation, including:

  • an anonymous or pseudonymous Explorer identifier;
  • an Adventurer number or other public-facing participant identifier;
  • Adventure enrollment and participation;
  • Milestones, stages, or RouteSteps completed;
  • QR codes, Markers, invitations, or links used to enter or progress through an Adventure;
  • completion times and other timestamps;
  • assigned routes, route revisions, or other Adventure progression information;
  • scores, leaderboard eligibility, and results;
  • referrals, shares, acquisition sources, and Influence activity;
  • integrity, diagnostic, or operational information associated with Adventure participation; and
  • other information reasonably necessary to operate an Adventure.

You may be able to participate in some Adventures without creating a traditional account.

Reports, Feedback, and Communications

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you contact moment zero or submit information through the service, including:

  • a contact email address, when provided;
  • Contact or Feedback submissions;
  • reports about missing, damaged, inaccessible, or otherwise problematic Markers or locations;
  • safety or operational reports;
  • messages and other information included in a submission;
  • communications sent to or received from moment zero; and
  • information submitted by administrators, collaborators, reviewers, or Adventure operators.

If you provide an email address or your participation is associated with an account that has an email address, moment zero may use that address to respond to your submission or provide relevant status updates.

Technical and Operational Information

When you use moment zero, we may automatically receive or derive limited technical and operational information necessary to operate, secure, diagnose, and understand the service, such as:

  • browser and general device information;
  • IP address;
  • approximate geographic information derived from an IP address;
  • request and error logs;
  • authentication and session information;
  • cookies and similar session technologies;
  • security, abuse-prevention, integrity, and diagnostic information; and
  • limited derived or pseudonymous signals used to identify potentially related activity for operational, security, or integrity purposes.

Approximate geographic information derived from an IP address is not the same as precise GPS or device location and may be inaccurate.

Where moment zero uses technical identifiers for short-term network correlation, we may transform or pseudonymize the underlying information rather than retaining it in directly readable form for that purpose.

2. Location Information

moment zero Adventures may direct participants to real-world locations.

Scanning a QR code, tapping or interacting with a Marker, completing a Milestone, or otherwise progressing through an Adventure may allow moment zero to infer that you were present at or had access to a particular location at approximately that time.

We may also derive approximate geographic information from technical information such as an IP address for operational, security, integrity, or diagnostic purposes. This information generally identifies a broad geographic area rather than your precise physical location.

moment zero does not currently require continuous GPS tracking or collect your precise device location solely because you participate in an Adventure.

If moment zero introduces features that collect precise device location in the future, we will provide appropriate notice and update this Privacy Policy as necessary.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • operate and provide moment zero;
  • authenticate users and manage permissions;
  • recognize participants and preserve Adventure progress;
  • enroll participants in Adventures;
  • record and validate Adventure progression;
  • assign routes and manage Adventure state;
  • calculate scores, leaderboards, referrals, or Influence;
  • provide invitations and sharing features;
  • maintain the integrity and fairness of Adventures;
  • investigate unusual, potentially invalid, or technically problematic participation;
  • understand operational patterns and diagnose technical problems;
  • respond to Reports, Contact submissions, Feedback, and other communications;
  • provide status updates or responses relating to submissions;
  • notify authorized operators about operational events requiring attention;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or misuse;
  • protect the security and reliability of the service;
  • improve moment zero and develop new features;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • protect moment zero, participants, operators, and others.

Integrity or operational signals may be used to identify activity for review. Such signals are not necessarily a determination that misconduct occurred.

4. Google User Data

moment zero uses Google authentication for certain account and staff-access features.

Google user data received through Google Sign-In is used to authenticate users, associate them with the appropriate moment zero account, participation, or authorized role, and provide account-based application functionality.

moment zero does not sell Google user data.

moment zero does not use Google user data for advertising.

moment zero does not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or secure the service, comply with law, or as otherwise disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share or make information available in limited circumstances, including the following.

Service Providers

We use third-party providers to operate moment zero, such as providers for:

  • application hosting;
  • database infrastructure;
  • authentication;
  • transactional email;
  • operational notifications and communications;
  • domain and network infrastructure; and
  • technical monitoring or operational services.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to moment zero.

For example, information necessary to send an email may be processed by our transactional email provider, and limited operational information about a Report, Contact submission, enrollment, completion, or other operational event may be delivered through configured staff-notification services.

Operational notifications are designed to limit the personal information they contain to what is reasonably necessary for the operational purpose.

Adventure Administration and Operations

Authorized administrators, collaborators, reviewers, or Adventure operators may have access to information appropriate to their role and reasonably necessary to configure, operate, review, troubleshoot, secure, or evaluate an Adventure or the moment zero platform.

Access may differ by role.

Authorized administrators may have access to additional participant or account information when necessary for administration, support, security, communications, or investigation.

Public Adventure Features

Certain information may intentionally be displayed publicly or to other participants when a feature requires it.

For example, qualifying leaderboard results, Adventurer numbers, public Explorer identifiers, scores, or other competition-related information may be displayed as part of an Adventure.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate fraud or abuse, respond to security or safety issues, or protect the rights and safety of moment zero, our users, or others.

6. Cookies and Sessions

moment zero uses cookies or similar technologies to maintain sessions, recognize participants, authenticate users, preserve Adventure progress, and secure the service.

Some cookies or browser-based identifiers may allow participation to persist without requiring a traditional account.

Disabling or deleting cookies or other browser data may prevent some moment zero features from functioning correctly or may affect our ability to recover anonymous Adventure progress.

7. Operational, Security, and Integrity Signals

To operate Adventures and protect the service, moment zero may create or retain limited operational signals derived from participation and technical activity.

These may include:

  • timestamps and progression records;
  • unusual timing or progression evidence;
  • general browser or device classifications;
  • approximate IP-derived geography;
  • pseudonymous or transformed network-correlation values; and
  • other limited evidence used to diagnose problems, investigate reports, or identify potentially related activity.

These signals may help administrators investigate technical issues, Adventure integrity, abuse, or unusual participation.

An operational or integrity flag does not by itself establish that a participant engaged in misconduct.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate moment zero, maintain Adventure records, provide functionality, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security and Adventure integrity, respond to communications, and satisfy legal or operational requirements.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it is used.

Some short-term technical or correlation information may be retained for a substantially shorter period than durable Adventure records. For example, certain pseudonymous network-correlation information may generally be retained for approximately 30 days where used for operational or integrity review.

Adventure participation, completion, communication, administrative, and other durable records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, authentication, restricted administrative permissions, encrypted connections, protected credentials, and transformation or pseudonymization of certain technical information.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices

Depending on how you use moment zero, you may be able to:

  • choose whether to sign in with Google;
  • participate anonymously or pseudonymously where supported;
  • decline optional information requests;
  • choose whether to provide an optional contact email;
  • stop participating in an Adventure;
  • revoke Google's authorization through your Google Account;
  • request information about data associated with your account; or
  • request deletion of certain personal information.

Some information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud or abuse prevention, Adventure integrity, dispute resolution, or legitimate operational records.

11. Children's Privacy

moment zero is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

Some Adventures may be appropriate for families or younger participants when used with the involvement and supervision of a parent, guardian, school, organization, or other responsible adult.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to moment zero inappropriately, please contact us.

12. Third-Party Services and Locations

moment zero may link to, interact with, or direct participants to third-party websites, services, businesses, organizations, or physical locations.

Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies and practices, and moment zero is not responsible for third parties that we do not control.

13. Changes to This Policy

moment zero may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.

The effective date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last updated.
